01Loved and Better Known

Roku Jizo (six Jizo) are said to save those who suffer from hesitation through repeatedly living
and dying in Rikudo, the six realms of Jigoku-do (Naraka realm, or hell realm),
Gaki-do (Preta realm, or hungry ghost realm), Chikusho-do (Animal realm), Shura-do (Ashura realm, or realm of demigods),
Jin-do (Human realm) and Ten-do (Dera realm, or realm of blissful state). Though their facial features are not clear owing to weathering, they are Jizo-son (statues of Jizo)
that have been loved and better known in this place since ancient times and are still treated cordially by the neighbors.
